Thank you to Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeanette Young AC PSM, Tennis Queensland CEO Anthony White and Robyn Littlewood CEO, Queensland Health and Well-Being for hosting this #IWD and Queensland’s Women of the Week event.
It was a privilege to attend on behalf of Sport Access Foundation and for my fellow Industry Fellows and Professor Elizabeth Kendall, Chair of Griffith University's Reimaging Disability.
The event was inspired by Queensland women working in the public health and tennis sectors, and included a walk through the 34ha site with tennis on the grass courts. Tennis Queensland provided a Hot Shots demonstration which is designed to actively encourage girls play sports from a young age.
Her Excellency commended the efforts of Health and Wellbeing Queensland in building a brighter, healthier and more active future for the next generation of Queensland women.
My Guide Dog Guthrie loved the lush lawns and easy access across the site 🙏.
