It was a wonderful opportunity to be involved as a guest speaker for the first Lake Macquarie City Council’s Women’s Sport Festival - three days of celebrating women in sport, with guest speakers, workshops, sport games and clinics from Friday 11 March to Sunday 13 March.
There was a range of motivational and hands-on events including an inspirational breakfast, a two-day Women's Lunch Symposium and an Open Day with taekwondo, soccer, tennis, croquet and a netball masterclass with Sam Poolman!
I spoke on the role of diversity and inclusion in sport, and the importance of continuing to challenge ourselves on how we are including the 1 in 4 Australians living with a disability.
